Hello Elizabeth: Oh, how we have laughed at this illustration! For us, it is more a reflection of human nature [especially of tourists] than anything else. So busy looking through binoculars [or, our pet hate, taking photographs] to notice what is right under their noses. Except, of course, the small child who misses nothing. This is a perfect tableau of the 'human condition'.
Elizabeth, I love how I always go look at your blog and find a wonderful surprise! this is just fabulous. Especially the baby giraffe and the little boy... Lovely! Susanna
Lol that first comment is so true, and you captured that perfectly... I love the little details in this, like the way that the van is tilted, and then the little boy balances it out.
This is adorable. I love the little boy that's face to face with the giraffe! hee! that made me smile....can you imagine the delight? Great illustation
I love this Elizabeth! Great idea. Adorably sweet and clever. Love the characters and perspective. You really pulled off a difficult composition... and so well!
so sweet to see the kid looking into the baby-giraffe's eye, but also the old car hanging a bit to the left and the interested safari people, beautiful details and illustration!
