Challenging
I have a little challenge going with another illustrator friend of mine. We try to post, daily if possible, a sketch on to Facebook. It keeps us coming up with new characters and ideas. It's pretty fun, but it IS challenging to come up with something post-able every day. I can't say I've made it every day, but -- almost. Here are a few "recents." Do you have a favorite?

Being partial to frogs I nominate shy froggy for favorite sketch.
ReplyDeleteI am partial to frogs, too...especially ones in party dresses ;)
DeleteThe last one. A sweet monster! : )
ReplyDeleteHee hee. Good pick :)
DeleteFrog in best party frock - wonderful! Axxx
ReplyDeleteRibbit ;)
DeleteMiss Froggy has a spotty dress and a pink sash ... and so, wins the competition.
ReplyDelete...and so, she shall be crowned ;)
DeleteGreat sketches!! I could drink a beer with the frog in the dress, and toss the football with the monster with the horns.
ReplyDeleteGreat Scott! I would shout out a monster cheer as you toss the football--then I would buy you and Miss Froggie that beer. What fun we'd have!
DeleteI love the last moster's smile. He makes me happy. Your ideas are awesome!
ReplyDeleteHe makes me happy, too-- and I'm happy you stopped by!
DeleteYou want us to choose just ONE? You're kidding.... It’s not right to show favoritism to your ‘progeny’! LOL
ReplyDeleteExcellent answer, R.
DeleteOh, I love all of them!! I think my favourite might be the girl frog. I think her name is Petunia. She looks very sweet and shy :D
ReplyDeleteFrom now on, she will be Petunia. Thank you for naming her!
Deletethe best is the bottom one. with the orange shorts.
ReplyDeletethis one is the most cohesive, and not patched. As well the expression dovetails nicely with the posture.
he's (she's?) a keeper.
.
Yes, I think Mr. Monster Pants has his act together. Thanks, Richard!
DeleteI like the one with the striped trousers the most, my 4 yr old boy likes the umbrella one best ('because I like the hearts', he said). Daily is hard! I have trouble keeping up with my weekly cartoon :) So hurry to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pia! Your son sounds like a real sweetie <3
DeleteI don't always make it daily...but I do try!
I love the frog, but all of them are great. You have such a wonderful imagination :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda!! I'm flattered you think so :)
DeleteYes yes yes! It's interesting and also challenging for most artists are procrastinators (I mean me! ha!)
ReplyDeleteYes...you are quite right! Thanks for stopping by, Dewi.
DeleteLove all the characters, Beth. I'd say you have a pretty fertile and productive imagination!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, K.! I'm never sure where they come from--but out they pop!
DeleteOh dear. A favorite? If forced, I'd also have to go with frog in dress. That coy expression and the very fancy dress are a killer combination! After that, all the others! Though I am strangely drawn to the goose in red boots.
ReplyDeleteHey, Cindy! I'm intrigued that you are drawn to the goose. I kind of like him to--must be the boots ;)

ReplyDeleteFrog- well, my mom loves frogs. :-)
Lisa G.
How does she feel about frogs in dresses? ;)
DeleteI like the frogs dress it's not every day you see that.
ReplyDeleteThis is probably a good thing... ;)
DeleteEveryday is a big challenge but wonderful discipline! My favourite is the froggy...she reminds me of Mr Toad dressed up as the washerwoman but this little froggy looks like she is off to a party!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Claire. I'm rather partial to her, myself.
DeleteIf I had to choose...I would opt for the frog because that's the one that made me smile...it would always have to have that face though...NO change in expression!!!
ReplyDeleteI am in complete agreement.
DeleteOh Elizabeth, that darling frog, the second one on the top right...DARLING! I can almost feel the lightness of her little polka dot dress! I've been away from the computer, so I'm a bit late...have FUNNNNNNNNNNN! Anita
ReplyDeleteIt DOES make her feel pretty. Thanks, Anita. xo
DeleteAll are of course, so sweet...but I'm particularly lovin Miss. Frog, she's adorable!! :)
ReplyDeleteBest with your challenge...all those sweet critters are there in your amazingly talented noggin, just waiting to be discovered!
xo J~
They just keep knockin' on my noggin to get out. Thank you!
DeleteHappy Monster makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteSo do the others, but happy monster has something extra appealing.
Happy camper, he is. There's nothing like a monster with a smile on his face (not to mention the orange peddle-pushers ;))
DeleteI chose number two and little one chose number four. :)
ReplyDeleteMighty fine choices. xo
DeleteWonderful! This will have me giggling for days!
ReplyDeleteHee hee -- thanks! :)
DeleteIt's gotta be the Frog in the Dress. With that expression and pose she's the one with all the personality, and the compelling story you want to know about.
ReplyDeleteShe's too shy to tell ;) Thanks, TB.
DeleteOh how I love that shy frog in HER little frock with polka dots! WHO KNEW a frog would sport such an article of clothing!!!!!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth my dear, it is always so good to see you skip by...thank you, from finish to end. Anita
I knew you would like her, Anita :) Thank you!
DeleteGood for you! They are whimsical and a real hoot.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sharon :)
DeleteOh my goodness, that froggie:) so wonderful! They all are. I hope we get to see more of them.
ReplyDeleteI am so very glad I stopped by to check in on you. The expressions leave me with a smile that rivals that on the monster's face.
Hey Alicia! I always love it when you stop by. Your kind comment left ME with a smile :) :)
DeleteThey are all great, the dotted dress on the frog. But my favourite is the green 'monster' with horns!
ReplyDeleteHe's a got a good heart, that green monster-guy. Thanks, Brigitte!
DeleteI love 'em all, but my favorite is definitely the frog. She's just the perfect blend of shyness and knowing she's pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurie! With a party dress like that, you can bet she's feelin' it :)
DeleteHard to pick, but I think I'll go with the big yellow beak fella. They're all super!
ReplyDeleteYay! I was hoping someone would like him. He's an odd bird, for sure, but he's got character, I think (not to mention a bird in the hand ;)).
DeleteThe frog in a frock is just fantastic! But then again, as always, all of these characters you created here are. Great challenge, and it's wonderful that you're so productive because of it.
ReplyDeletehmmm... I agree, it is a tough choice. Frog looks like an easy character to love, but I am drawn to what is happening between beaky character with umbrella and the goose in the rain.
