I like the way you create movement. There's a current of wind, here, and in the last one, water, that is palpable. Weird, but it's like after I look at your work, I feel like I've watched a cartoon instead of just viewed a single frame.
Hi, I have been here few times last week but I do not see any my comments. It is weird .... probably all is fault of bird nr.6 !!
I admired your drawings from past times and I wrote some comments...(gone) It's great to see whole process.... It seems to me you have more fun now... art knows no boundaries, art doesn't really have judgement. Good Luck on your way!!! Just go on!
And about A Fowl Brigade: simple but a lot of expressions!
The town I live in is a navy town and I see your left five characters frequently, lining up, tired, windblown, looking in all directions. Never see the one on the right though, unless it is the sergeant.
It's been so fun catching up with you! I love your silly birds...especally the one going the wrong way (or maybe she's going the right way?)! And I really loved seeing how your art has evolved into your very own particular & special style...'you' are shining through now! Enjoy the gorgeous day! xo J~
These are so funny, do you give them names and personalities while you're drawing? My mind went in a similar direction but our illustrations were done in a very different way!
Hehe hehe I see that many have chuckled before me :0 but I reckon I chuckled the hardest :)
you have the gift of showing just the right amount to tell the story and to keep us intrigued . Less is more - especially when it flows so well and has so many faces (Ps the Teddy bear got away :) )
I love reading the comments and seeing how much enjoyment you've created with a few prefectly drawn lines. It's amazing to me how you've pared these creatures down to minimal gestures and still convey so much. Well done...as usual!
He he! I identify with that quail.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Monday morning crowd going back to work again, and who can't identify with the little guy going the other direction.
ReplyDeleteWe have hundreds of geese flying in V formation over our house - alarmingly all in different directions. Abby has been documenting it.

I really like these simpler style line drawings that get filled with so much personality. Love their scarves and their rather unsure expressions.
