Egg

I'm a little late this week for Illustration Friday.  Actually, I'm a little late for everything, of late.
Anyhoo...here is a little something for the topic, "Egg."
It begs the question:  tiny bunnies, or giant egg?

Taking Off!!

I have my bags packed, and my little portfolio friends in tow...and am taking off for the Big Apple and the SCBWI Winter Conference!  I'm landing a little early to meet with my publisher and spend a little time with some family and friends.  It should be fun (last year's was), and I will be back next week to fill you in.
Have a great week, everyone--and thanks for all your kind comments while I was MIA these past few weeks!  :) :)  I will definitely be playing catch-up with all your blogs when I get back.
I've missed you!

Shy

Getting a jump on Illustration Friday this week, I've pulled out this little character drawing I did not long ago. I think it fits the bill for this week's topic-- "Shy."
I'm still mucking out from weeks of deferred maintenance, so to speak, due to Henny and my little vacation--but I'm certainly not complaining. My family and friends back east have a lot more serious mucking out to do. I send my support, best wishes, and xo to them all!

Character Development

Some people expressed an interest in my picture book...so here is the development of the main character--cleverly, and oh-so-originally (for now) named, "The Thing."  He's basically a big, sleepy, bunny-like, well... Thing.  My vision of him from the beginning hasn't changed much--(maybe longer legs and slightly different proportions).  It seems I draw them pretty much the way they end up right out of the chute, so to speak.
