..." they said that when the candle goes off, the sun will too. the trees will get old and the man with the dark eyes will bring dark with his coming... "
ia bit scary this one and is quite dark outside ... got a bit inspired ; )
Very mysterious and yes, there is definitely a story in there somewhere. I am going to have to think on this one and come back if I find inspiration :-) Di X
Now how, how did I miss this? I am keeping my eye on your fabulous art, and well, I missed this one!!! ELIZABETH, YOU have a quality that I just love. Those knarly and twiggy lines are just my style. I am NOT a colorist and I so enjoy how you can get so much across with just the right TURN OF THE LINES. Oh, you are so good. I am hoping that my next post will include more of my drawings..teeheee...they are so immature. BUT WHAT FUN. AND YES........The Hokey Pokey REALLY IS what it's all about...teeheee....GOTTA SEE THE BRIGHT SIDE of this wild life!
Very eerie! The evil witch turns little bad boys and girls who get lost In the forest into her collection of trees. And when they misbehave she is not shy of burning them to bits!
The tree is beautiful. This kind of trees are luckily in "my forest" , where I regularly find the fairy tree houses.....Creepy, mysterious faces. What they are going to do?
Mr. Tree looks a little sad... likes he's thinking..."Here come those mysterious folks again with their mysterious glances and stares...I wish they would just bring me some ice cream every now and then." xo J~
(Ginger says HI and thanks you for thinking she's cute! ♥)
Sketchrambles hurrah! Love where your mind decides to draw a line and then another... Feels like a conversation to join. Just a sec while I go make a cup of tea.
Oh my goodness, mysteries abound! I have the feeling that something distinctly unearthly is about to happen. Took me a moment to notice that odd face-like protuberance of the ground... heaven knows what's planted beneath!
Elizabeth, as always love your work with your crazy, creepy interpretations! What goes on in that head of yours?! Always so fun coming over here! Makes me wonder... just love your work, humor, and your dark side is simply devilishly divine.
Oooooooo, yes, a story...like from a dream - rich and complicated and heart pounding but can't quite remember it....just imprinted with it...hmmmm...ooooooo....
Hello Elizabeth! I've thoroughly enjoyed your recent posts! Chicken with Arms was very funny, as was your entire 'Imagined' series. Just delightful. The illo from Underneath the Juniper Tree is wonderful - although I don't think I'll show it to my rabbit. Edgy and a little dark with a splash of whimsy. Congratulations on your success!
This is mighty and impressively original work E. I agree, there's a few stories in there somewhere too. My own right brain is so battered and knackered right now, I can't think of anything more meaningful to say I'm afraid. I do so like the girls face that's stretching out of the ground on the left.
Love it!
ReplyDeleteWonderful sketch! Why don't you ask for stories? It would be interesting to see what people come up with (and just how twisted their minds work! LOL)
ReplyDeletevery cool characters. they write the story themselves. your illustrations are awesome!
ReplyDeleteme encanto :)
ReplyDeletewow, what a great characters again, Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteHello Elizabeth:
ReplyDeleteWe should say inclined to the sinister, particularly where the bole of the tree is concerned. As for the other figures, well.....!
Love it, especially the tree stump.

Yes! You have produced quite a "mysterious" image and I think the story hiding within it is not a happy one. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteGreat approach! And I don't want to hear the story...
ReplyDeleteVery mysterious and yes, there is definitely a story in there somewhere. I am going to have to think on this one and come back if I find inspiration :-)

ReplyDeleteWow! Fabulous piece, indeed very mysterious. Just kind of linguers touching upon each aspect.
ReplyDeletethis illustration really cries out for a fairy tale to go with it. Something grim(m)ish.
ReplyDeleteFantastic work, it would make a wonderfully scary tale.
Whatever the story is, it's not going to be a happy ending! Great illustration.

ReplyDeleteThe tree is beautiful. This kind of trees are luckily in "my forest" , where I regularly find the fairy tree houses.....Creepy, mysterious faces. What they are going to do?
ReplyDeleteThe poor tree trunk is hoping the moon will stay out and someone will see what these creeps are up to and save him!
ReplyDeleteDoes your imagination keep you from sleeping at night? Not due to scary thoughts but from being too busy coming up with ideas?
Heisann!
ReplyDeleteHmm, this is 'mystiphysical' The code is hard to find ;:OD)
OH, this is great! It SCREAMS "Mysterious"!
ReplyDeleteThere IS a story in there somewhere. But by the looks on their faces, no one's telling.
ReplyDeleteWonderful expressions!
.
Love the sketchiness of this, and really like the tree. Is that a face coming out of the ground? What IS the story behind this?
ReplyDeletegreat image, i like how the sun almost looks like a hole in the sky, and the sinister character in the foreground too. nice work elizabeth

ReplyDeleteMmm! Something deliciously and comedically (?!) dark is about to happen. I would love a shot at writing for one of your sketches.
