Hello, Tyler!
This is Gus. He likes closets because sometimes he finds fun and unusual (for a monster ;)) things to wear. He found these recently and decided to try them on.
What do you think? Oh, and by the way, Gus keeps a little glow stick handy because well, you know, closets can be DARK!
Gus says, "Hi!"
Gus looks embarrassed to be caught in a tutu! Great illustration!
ReplyDeleteYes, Gus isn't quite sure about this one ;) Thanks, Michelle!
DeleteI wondered where my daughter's ballet shoes had gone to...
ReplyDeleteHahahaha!
DeleteI was talking to my brother about your work last night. He had a distinct memory of the gifts you gave little one and me last year at this time. I was boasting about you, really. Saying that you not only had exquisitely-honed skill but that you were a visionary.
ReplyDeleteI am humbled. Thank you, dear S.
DeletePS although it may be more accurate to say I have visions ;)
DeleteElizabeth, how compassionate of you to give this truly, ugly, plump monster real, skinny ballerina legs and a perfect ballerina position. Well done.
ReplyDeleteCould your ballerina perform an anti rain dance for me (see my blog)? I would appreciate that so much!
He did. Looks like the show was a success...I hope it helped :)

Thanks, Lisa :-D
DeleteI like him...he looks harmless for a child eating monster...especially in that get up!
ReplyDeleteYes...the outfit has distracted him from his normal duties ;)
DeleteWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Oh he is PERFECT, ELIZABETH!Love it so. Anita
ReplyDeleteGus and I are so pleased that you do, Anita :) Thank you!
DeleteOooh... I want Gus in my closet! ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteAmalia--maybe he's already there ;)
DeleteI KNOW Tyler will be so relieved to only have to think about a green, horned monster, dressed up in a tutu and point shoes, in his closet. Oh yes, with a glow stick handy!!! Beth, you are hilarious!!!
ReplyDeleteKathryn
I think Tyler, little as he is, has a good sense of humor. I know his dad certainly does. Glad you are amused, K. :)
Delete'Dear little Tyler, protect me, please -
ReplyDeleteeverytime someone comes near my wardrobe
my heart beats, I freeze!
If you will look after me, I'll not make a fuss,
I am so proud of you, Tyler. Thank you! Your Gus.'
Clever and cute, Britta!
DeleteGus has excellent taste in tutus :)
ReplyDeleteGus is flattered. Thanks, Susanna!
DeleteLovely tutu and wonderful gesture!!!
ReplyDeletePutting on the tutu made Gus feel like quite the ballerina. He's in character ;)
DeleteThis is where 'Monster Repellent' comes in handy. Not sure if I would use it on Gus though! :D
ReplyDeleteDefinitely...but Gus IS grateful that you would would exhibit restraint in his case :)
DeleteVery cute,:)
ReplyDeleteGus is happy you think so, Catherine. Thanks!
DeleteSo lovely:)
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteTee hee. This made me chuckle and smile! Cute!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad it did, Alexandra. Thanks!
DeleteThis is AWESOME! Tyler got a huge kick out of this. We've printed out the monster and have put it on his closet door. Now when he's scared of monsters we point out the tutu and how silly the monsters looks. This is yet another weapon in our ongoing war with the monsters. Many thanks, Elizabeth...you're the best! WooHoo! :-)
ReplyDeleteYay! Reading this is just the best way to start a week! I am SO pleased Tyler likes Gus, and that he is helping Tyler win the monster-wars. It is quite obvious that he has big imagination, and such a great dad--and I have no doubt Tyler will grow into an accomplished, confident young man.
DeleteKeep up the good work!!
Cheers!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Claire. I'm workin' on it ;)
DeleteAs has been said a perfect ballerina pose on a lovely benign monster. i'm sure Tyler won't be scared after seeing Gus.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue. I hope you are right!
