The
IF topic for the week is "Twirl" I have a character named Henny--who happens to be a chicken born with arms. Henny worries about it...but then realizes that having arms isn't so bad after all. She comes to see that this odd twist of fate offers her opportunities not possible, otherwise ;)
For example, one of the things Henny realizes she can do with arms is...

...wave like the Queen!
And so, dear readers, I will see you next week.
Henny and I are off to the
SCBWI conference in
New York!
We twirl our arms in farewell for now --
just like the Queen ;)
What a charming character!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time in New York! I envy you. I have yet to make it to a national level SCBWI conference. Perhaps when my daughter's college tuition payments are no longer an issue . . .
Waving back at Henny (having been born in a Dominion of Henny's it is only her due).
ReplyDeleteHello Elizabeth:
ReplyDeleteHenny really does have a regal look about her. The wave, the gloved hand, the hat and the handbag are unmistakeably those of our own dear Queen. She will need a tiara for the Diamond Jubilee, perhaps one will be bestowed upon her in New York? We do hope so.
Safe travelling, dearest Elizabeth!
Here's hoping you and Henny have a great time at the conference and that things happen for both of you!
ReplyDeleteWonderful. I recognized whose wave it was even before I read your post.
ReplyDeleteLove! <3
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA!!! Aaaah, I had to laugh, this is so delightful. I do wonder, though, if somewhere out there, there is a poor human with chicken wings.... Have a great time at the conference!
ReplyDeleteHem-hem, hem-hem, splendid chicken I do say.
ReplyDeletePip! Pip!
que buen trazo! saludos :)
ReplyDeleteCute.
ReplyDeleteYou and Henny have a great time in the Big Apple!
ReplyDeleteYeah, who needs to fly anyway, when you have the Travel Channel. She can hold the remote with one hand and pop seeds in her mouth with the other.
ReplyDeleteHope it's a great Conference!
Interesting take on twirl! Love a chicken who can not only do a twirl wave but can do an outstanding impression of the Queen...
ReplyDeletehihi, there's Henny again, she look really 'queenlike' with her waving arm :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice time in New York!
I wish you both a very nice trip! Ans I must say, I couldn't tell the different between Henny and the queen;-) she is a queen!
