Henny, having heard about all the hot weather her friends are having to endure, decided to put her bikini back on and try for a little dip. She also likes this idea because the Illustration Friday theme for the week is "refresh." Should she decide to jump in here in the still chilly NW, I think she will find herself more than refreshed...
Hmmm...do chickens get goosebumps?
Hmmmmmm...I've heard they get frozen!
ReplyDeleteShe could try using a wetsuit next time :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm - do I detect a tinge of green? My Dad always
ReplyDeletesaid Washingtonians don't tan over on the West
side, they gently mold.
Love it! And chickens definitely get goose bumps although probably not as big as geese get them... ;)
ReplyDeleteI love this! Chickenbumps, maybe?
ReplyDeleteOh marvelous. I can't imagine a more stylish bikini and hat combo. Might I suggest a little wading to determine whether the full submersion treatment is advisable?
ReplyDeleteI've always called them chill bumps. :)
ReplyDeleteYup, chickenbumps! ;)
ReplyDeleteChic chick! With or without the 'foul' bumps!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I laughed when Isaw the illustration (from joy) and I laughed at your text. Ahh superb to get a double laugh :) Your work is a crack up - in a good way.
ReplyDeleteTake care :)
Chickens do get goosebumps - when you pluck 'em! Don't tell Henny :-)

I love Henny! She has her own style and she doesn't mind if she makes us giggle (a little!)
ReplyDeleteLOL totally chicken bumps
ReplyDeleteHehe, love it! my husband laughed at me recently because I said I had chicken bumps. I had my birds mixed up :)
ReplyDeletehahahahahaha, I LOVE Henny this way :-)
ReplyDeleteXD, she has no complex, I´m glad for her! Very nice illo and, besides, I´ve learnt a new english expression: goosebump. I´d never heard this, so I looked for it in google and now my vocabulary has been improved. In spanish you say "piel de gallina", by de the way.
ReplyDelete:-))
Oh dear.....OH DEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE IS STUNNING, just FABULOUS IN HER LITTLE BIKINI!!! Tea Rat sported one of these last summer and made a HUGE splash in Nowhere....teeheee...you are brilliant my dear! Anita
ReplyDeletehaha, love this illustration, especially her head!!! just great.
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable and funny, and I love your little note about her!
ReplyDeleteI'm still jealous of that chick - the uber ultimate of cool! sigh. I aspire....
ReplyDeletexxo to Henny! =]
Oh, this is extremely funny.
ReplyDeleteI never imagined a chicken in bikini :))))))))))))))
Love it Elizabeth, now I'm envisioning a chicken with chill bumps ;)
ReplyDeleteHenny is adorable and full of confidence despite her inner tube being stretched to the limits, she has no room for goosebumps
ReplyDeleteFabulous
Helenxx
If Henny just dives in, do you suppose she can right herself if she's floating bottoms-up?
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, but when I see that tight inner tube and all that plumpness, I think about the sound it made when she screwed it on. You know that sound a balloon makes when you rub it on the wall??
wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHenny clearly suffers a sunstroke. Does she know she is a bird and that only mammals have boobs? And that therefore only donkey's, apes, humans and dolphins...yes only mammals need bikini tops?
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Can't wait to read Henny's story.
ReplyDeleteSo funny!
ReplyDeleteWow, if it really is still chilly where you are then I'm entirely jealous. This illustration is adorable!
ReplyDeleteDoes Henny have a farmer's tan? Great job.
ReplyDeleteLove the bathing suit and how ready she is to just get to the beach! Great expression, even under hat/sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready to jump in the pool with her! Elizabeth, I keep trying to follow you on Pinterest, but for some reason, it's not taking it.I'll keep trying. Dawn
ReplyDeleteHa, she makes me smile! I like her. She looks very brave.
ReplyDeleteOh my! This is just priceless! Love the matching hat! Was Henny on West Dennis Beach on Cape Cod (MA) last weekend? Because I swear I saw her there....or someone who looked an awful lot like her anyway.....
ReplyDeleteI love how ready Henny looks to enjoy the sun & warmth...and how wonderful that now the Northwest is providing her with loads of it!
ReplyDeleteRemember your sunscreen Henny...especially for those cute chicken arms!
xo J~
This work makes me think a lot about vacations that i still don't know if i'll have this year!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd i think it's really cool to be trendy and fashion on vacations :D
She delights me! Those arms! That bathing suit! Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteHenny is the bomb. Truly a chic chick.
I love her dead pan expression.
Long live Henny!
"Do chickens get goosebumps?" sounds like a great title for a children's book!!
ReplyDeleteOh my I simply adore your drawings! When I saw this, I just though "This is what I want to look like in a week when I go on vacations!" awesome. have a fantastic day *(:
